Welcome!!

Hi! We are the Plunks: Jennifer, Jeff, Matthew and Maddie! Welcome to our blog. I started this blog to chronicle our service dog adventure, but it has evolved into a place for me to jot down my thoughts... about autism, parenting, family, working, but mostly about celebrating life and the God who gifted us with it. Enjoy the ride!

Talent Overflowing!

Wow... what a spring it has been for Matthew and Maddie!! First of all, in April, Maddie and two of her friends tried out for the talent show at Wesleyan, and they made it in! They created a dance to Mandisa's song "Definition of Me," and they did SOOOO great! I was so impressed with their creativity and hard work. All three of the girls are strong-willed, creative and high-spirited, but they worked together and did so well!! They were at the end of the talent show, which is a complement in itself, and so many people commented on their song -- it has SUCH a great message. May is a big piano month... Matthew and Maddie have both been practicing for a WHILE now on their guild songs. They both did 10 songs by memory (actually Matthew did 9 by memory and the 10th was a sight-reading song), and they both did fantastic at Guild. Matthew got 28 C's (commendation) and 1 A (attention), and Maddie got 23 C's and 1 A. Maddie got a little nervous, but they were both so very prepared and had worked very hard -- I know they did their best. The piano recital was the weekend after guild, and they both played beautifully. I love the music they make! The last excited talent news just happened this week -- Maddie tried out for the fall middle school play at Wesleyan, and she found out Friday afternoon that she made it!!! Only four fifth graders made it (the play is 5th - 8th), so she is absolutely THRILLED!! I'm so excited that we'll be sharing that experience in the fall!
