Welcome!!

Hi! We are the Plunks: Jennifer, Jeff, Matthew and Maddie! Welcome to our blog. I started this blog to chronicle our service dog adventure, but it has evolved into a place for me to jot down my thoughts... about autism, parenting, family, working, but mostly about celebrating life and the God who gifted us with it. Enjoy the ride!

St. John Day 16 - by Matthew!

We had a load of fun today! It started with cereal and toast for breakfast, and reading Jesus Calling and Voyage of the Dawn Treader. We then got on our swimwear and headed to a small southeastern beach called Grootpan Bay. Maddie tested the water; and, upon seeing that there were a lot of baby urchins, we entered the water at a different point. I was a little scared of the rough seas (our travel book had mentioned calmer waters in the winter), but I became brave in the end and swam across the bay! It is a lot easier than a darn cross-channel swim (of course)! At length, we approached the reef on the other side. We snorkeled to a large rock and turned around, heading for shore. We took off our masks (goggles, in my case) and snorkels (everyone but me) and drove to Cinnamon Bay. We snorkeled out to the small island in the middle of the bay, and swam back. On the way, we saw a group of squid and a ray! Then I read my Ronald Reagan bio, washed my feet, and headed home to Little Lagoon North, where the rest of the day awaits. My favorite things have been: hiking Ram Head, snorkeling, shopping and watching movies and AFV and America's Got Talent at night (though not really on the same night) and just being on this wonderful island. Oh, and getting there too!
