Saint John Day 22: THE LAST DAY! (by Matthew)

Today started off with a dynamic breakfast of cinnamon rolls and a drive over to the Lind Point trailhead. We hiked down to Salomon Beach,where we snorkeled over to the point separating it from Honeymoon Beach. We saw a ginormous school of fish and a school of blue tang. Then we did a little rock scramble, where I saw an urchin slightly smaller than a basketball! After that, we went to the main beach, where we ate our snack and snorkeled. After the sound of thunder, I turned back, but the girls chose to risk their lives over a sea-turtle. Well, we made our way back to our car with no lightning striking within 10 miles of us, and drove home. There, we spent a little time resting, showering and getting dressed. Then we drove to town, where Dad and I went for a stroll around Mongoose Junction and The Nat'l. Park Visitors Center while Maddie got her hair braided. Then we walked to a little gazebo, and then we took a stroll during a sunburst. Once we arrived at Cafe Roma (the best pizza on the island, second only to the Donkey Diner), we discovered that it was still closed, so we drove over to Shipwreck Landing at Coral Bay. That was yummy. Then we drove home. **Addition by Jen: It's hard to believe our three weeks here is up, but we are all ready we've decided. We're looking forward to real air conditioning, and we're very excited about visiting Universal Studios! Being here these past 23 days has been so incredible... we're even more in touch as a family, more in touch with God our masterful creator and so relaxed and rested... and we're all so very, very thankful.
