Wow! What a game! Maddie's team played tonight at 7:30pm, so I stayed home with Matthew and Jeff took her to her game. He texted me at 9 and said: "They WON and Maddie was the hero!" I was waiting on pins and needles for them to get home! Going into tonight they were 0 - 2, with one blow out and one 1 point game, but Maddie has been loving it nonetheless! Her coaches are AMAZING and we are so thankful that she is on this team. They are encouraging and really care about teaching them the game. It's going to be a great learning experience. Maddie came home tonight with the game ball and a huge smile... here's the story:
It was the bottom of the last inning... Maddie's team (the Green Team) is down 6 - 3. With TWO OUTS, Maddie is up to bat for the 2nd time tonight (the first time, she struck out watching - apparently this pitcher was quite intimading). SO, with 2 outs and 2 strikes, Maddie swings AND..... WHACK!
Maddie hit the ball! A solid hit right up the middle. She knocked two runs in to tie up the game! Then she came around to score the winning run!!!
